Get Started

Choose how you want to run practice questions — locally on your machine or in Google Cloud Shell.

Local mode — runs everything on your machine. You'll need Python 3.9+, and Docker (for KIND clusters). Best for performance and unlimited practice sessions.

Install the Aicademy CLI

Open your terminal and run the following command:

$ uv tool install aicademy

Requires Python 3.9+ and uv.

Login to Aicademy

Authenticate the CLI with your Aicademy account:

$ aicademy login

Opens a browser window for authentication.

Install Prerequisite Tools

The CLI will check and install everything needed:

$ aicademy tools --install

Installs KIND, kubectl, Docker (if missing), and cluster templates.

Start a Practice Lab

Pick a question and spin up a real Kubernetes cluster:

$ aicademy question start cka-01

Replace cka-01 with any question ID from the practice library.
